Keyword Density and Related Keywords

Keyword Density and Related Keywords

While writing good and quality content for your website or blog, you should focus your page or post’s content around one keyword which would obviously a long tail keyword. Focusing your content on one keyword means include that key word in your content naturally. Do not attempt to force that keyword in your content or include that keyword in such a way that it will look unnatural to the human visitor or search engine crawler.

Image Optimization for On Page SEO

Image Optimization for On Page SEO

The next area we’re about to discuss is Image Optimization. You may want to use images in your content with text, so we have to optimize images also for better Search Engine Rankings. Search Engine’s crawlers can easily understand web page or post having text on it but if your page includes some photos search engine can’t understand those images so we have to provide some information to the search engines about the images.
We would provide some information to the search engines about the photos we include in our pages or posts with the help of these elements:
  1. Image File Name
  2. Image Title Tags
  3. Image Alt Tags
  4. Image File Size
These are also the elements where we would focus our attention to optimize these images for better Search Engine Rankings. As you know Google has a search option for images and people use this search option to find images they like. If you want to attract traffic from Google’s Image Search, you should optimize your images accordingly.
Let’s understand how we can optimize our photos using the above elements,

1- Image File Names:

When you want to include images to your page or post, name your images with your keyword in mind. Do not include an image having name like this:
IMG 87365.JPG
Use keyword rich names for your images and separate your words using hyphens (-) instead of space. If you are going to include more than one image on a single post or page, vary image names accordingly for all images so that it looks natural. For example if you are making a post on Persian cats do not use names for images like this:
Cute-Persian-cat-1.jpg, Cute-Persian-cat-2.jpg
Instead you can use names for these images like, cut-persian-cat.jpg, Persian-cute-cat.jpg, cute-cat-persian.jpg
I just made these examples to just give you an idea that how you can look natural in your writing image names for your photos. Just follow the process and you are good to go. When you include keyword rich name for your images and optimize them it will help the search engines to get the better idea of your images and content on your website. But remember don’t force a keyword into an image name, like if you are using an image repeatedly on your site for navigation do not use keywords for those images because it will look spam and un-natural to search engines.

2- Image Title Tags:

This tag contains text that will be shown to the visitor when he hover the mouse over an image. It should also be keyword focused but not keyword stuffed. This tag should contain a post or page name with a keyword but remember to look natural don’t force keyword in the title tag. This should be related to you content of the page or post and also keyword focused.

3- Image Alt Tags:

It is very important to include Alt tags for images. Images may seem like a straightforward component of your site. The Alt tag attribute allows you to specify alternative text for the image if it cannot be displayed for some reason. Why use this Alt Tag? If a user is viewing your site on a browser that doesn't support images, or is using alternative technologies, such as a screen reader, the contents of the alt attribute provide information about the picture. If you are using an image related to the post or page and not for just navigation, you should include keyword in this tag too, but again your Alt tag for images should also look natural and meaningful.

4- Image File Size:

Loading time for a web page is very important you should consider this fact too that if you are using high definition photos then these images would take like 1 or 2 minutes for load and you cannot afford that much time to just spent on loading as it’s a game of seconds not of minutes. 1, 2 sometimes 3 seconds are enough for a web page to load never include heavy images. If want an image with 500 by 300 Resolutions then do not include images with higher resolution and then resize. Just upload images with required Resolution, your size of images must be reasonable so that it will take less time on browser to load. Because loading time is very important for SEO.

Author Information, Profile and Rank

Author Rank, Profile and Information

This area in On-Page SEO elements is likely to become more and more important in Search Engine Results. Some of you may have noticed small photos with search results in Google. These photos are of the authors who actually wrote that content, photos appearing with search results means that Google has decided that the content is of such a quality and the person or site on which the content is posted has some sort of authority over it.

Most of you also know that Google is using Page Rank to provide authority of a web page or post, like analyzing its content and links that content have from other websites, pages or posts. So now Google has introduced this new feature called Author Rank to indicate the authority of an author over the content of the page or post. This is may be because Google is showing more interest in social sites like Facebook and Twitter. And Google has introduced its own Social sharing platform called Google+. So Google is interested in placing emphasis that who has authored the content like giving the authority to that person.

Author Rank and Google can have an amazing influence on your search engine rankings, whereas remaining silent and no appear as author may not give you any benefit. If you really think that you are providing good quality content then you should consider this feature to have its benefits. For this feature to really work you should have a Google Account on Google+. It’s really easy to setup, you don’t need to have a rocket science knowledge to set up your Google+ profile.

When you have your Google+ page, then you edit your Google+ profile to add links to your site where you post your quality content and link back your site to your Google+ Page. It is a reciprocal linking of your content on the site with your Google+ Page or you can say that you are linking your Google+ Page with your site so that you can show Google that you are the author of that site that you have linked to your Google+ Page.
After this you should also consider adding a +1 button (icon) [Social Sharing Icon, like Facebook share button] in your website or blog so that your visitors can share your quality content with their friends and family. This thing will also add some weight to the authority you have over your content and improve your rankings and give your site or blog extra exposure and thus more valuable traffic to your site.

Now I’ll list down some of the benefits or advantages of adding Google Authorship to your website or blog:
  1. This feature increase your credibility as Google has already seeing you as the Author of the content you write
  2. Additional trust for you and for your visitors that they are reading quality content from Google’s verified author
  3. When your photo appear with search results in search engine your website makes a stand-out impression on your visitors thus giving your site a good CTR(Click Through Rate)
  4. Your content would be instantly shared by your visitors, giving you more traffic and exposure
  5. It will help you build your own authority over your content which will definitely help you in future as Google takes more notice of social sharing
  6. Your site would be given extra SEO benefit if your competitors are not using this feature
There may be a feeling in your heart that Google is forcing everyone to use Google+ instead of Facebook and Twitter, it may be the case but it’s Google we are talking about, the #1 Search Engine in the market in present era. We are living in Google’s world so we have to follow Google’s rules so that we can make our way to the top.

Description Meat Tags for On-Page SEO

Description Meta Tags for Better On-Page SEO

Description Meta Tags provides a short summary (Snippet) of your page or post in the search results. There are three parts of a search results with three different colors. The title of a page or post is shown in Blue color, The Description of a Page or post is shown in Black color and page’s URL is shown in Green color. As you know now that the description of a page is shown in search results, you should consider this area very important not only because it’s important because of SEO of a page but also it will generate more clicks to your page or post.
Your Description Meta Tags should be compelling enough that a person or searcher looking for something will click on your site if his search query matches with the content of your page/post. So you should write Description Meta Tags in such a way that will show the searchers that what they will get inside your page/post. Description Meta Tags are amazing to increase your Click Through Rate for specific Keywords for which you are already ranked for on search engines and are showing on 2nd or 3rd position. If you are on 2nd or 3rd position on search engine results you can still have more traffic or visitors than the site above you, if you write a good and compelling description than your competitors.

Description Tags provided for each page is also called snippet for that page that will show on the search engines results. Google may use other section of your page as content snippet (Description of Page) if it is matched to the user’s query. As I told you in the earlier post that part of your permalink will be bolded if it matches with the search query. This also goes for the Description Meta Tags, if user’s query matches with your description of a page showing in search results, the matched section would also appear in bold. These things give users a clue about whether the content on the page matches with what the user is looking for.

What to avoid in Description Meta Tags

So how can we make Description Meta Tags more compelling than our competitors?
Write Description of a Page in such a way that would both inform and interest users if they saw your Description Meta Tags as snippet in search results.
But avoid all these things while writing a description of a page:
  1. Writing Description Meta Tags that has no relation to the content on the page.
  2. Using generic description like “It is a webpage”.
  3. Filling your Description Meta Tags only with keywords.
  4. Copy and pasting the content on the page in Description Meta Tags.
Use unique description for each page/post in your website/blog. Do not use single description for all the pages in your blog/site.
There is a limit of 200 Characters (including spaces) for writing Description Meta Tags for each page, so wisely choose your words for this tag. If you are appearing in search results for some queries but not getting the desired traffic volume you should consider rewriting description for that page/post.

“Google Webmasters Tools” provides information about the web pages that are ranked for specific queries in search results. This tool will also show the rank, search query and click through rate you page is getting from the search results. So you should consider using this tool for your benefit in this regard and to outsmart your competition in this Description Meta Tags area.

In the next post we will discuss about the Keyword Meta Tags that how can we use this area to optimize our page or post and outsmart our competition.

Permalink Structure On-Page SEO

Permalink Structure for Better On-Page SEO

In every blog or website, whenever a new post or page is created it is given a permalink (URL) to identify in blog or website’s database. You can say that these permalinks are the sole identity of different pages and posts. You can use these permalinks anywhere to refer to these specific pages or posts in your emails, other posts or pages, Facebook and Google Plus, or you can also provide these permalinks in printed materials.

Simple to read and simple to understand URLs (Permalinks) will convey your site’s content information easily. Just create descriptive and simple permalinks that are friendly to visitors and for Search Engines. URL like this “www.yourdomain.com/3402842xd/sdfoelp.html” can be confusing and very hard to remember if someone wants to link to your post or page for that permalink. Sometime Users may believe that a part of the permalink is unnecessary, and might leave the unnecessary part, so breaking the link. If your permalink (URL) contains relevant words, this provides users and search engines with more information about the page/post.

Remember one thing that the permalinks you created for your posts and pages would be displayed in search engine results if a user’s query triggers your post or page and the section(s) of your page’s permalink appear in bold if it matches with the users query. So you should use words in your permalinks rather than numbers so that you can reap more SEO juice from this area.

Permalink Structure Conclusion Summary:

Permalinks with words that are relevant to your site's content and structure are friendlier for both visitors navigating your site and Search Engines. Users remember short and simple URLs better and are more willing to create links to these kinds of pages and posts that have quality content with short and simple permalink.

Avoid all these in your Permalinks:

  1. Lengthy and complex URLs that are difficult to remember
  2. Numeric Page names like page1 pag2 or so on
  3. Excessive keywords in permalinks
  4. Choosing permalinks that are not related to the page’s content
  5. Odd capitalization of URLs, most users like lower-case URLs

Post/Page Title and Heading Tags

Post/Page Title and Heading Tags

In the last post we discussed the importance of Website Domain Name for On Page SEO. Today we move on to our next On Page SEO element which is Title Tags for Posts and Pages. At the top of the browser a bar displays the Title Tag for a page or post, and it is very important for On Page Search Engine Optimization. When The Search Engine crawl a website Title Tag is the first thing that a Search Engine crawler encounters. So do not waste or skip this area for better optimization.

Title Tags:

So the question is what you should write in your Page/Post Title Tags?
Your Title Tag should not contain irrelevant information or sentences that are not related to the content of the page. Title Tag should be focused on a keyword for which you write your page or post’s content. It should not be too lengthy or something that is not readable or make no sense to human visitor.

Title Tags should be easily readable, short and keyword focused. If you put more words in title tags the collective and individual value of each word in this tag would be diminished so do not over stuff your Title Tags with only Keywords. For example if you write a 4 word long tail keyword in title tag it, each word is more powerful in this 4 word keyword than a 5 or 6 word keyword.

Conclusion:

Fully optimize your title tags with tightly focused keywords. But do not over stuff your Title Tags with unnecessary information, keywords or sentences that make no sense and are not readable to human visitors.

Heading Tags:

The heading displays at the top of the content of the page/posts and is another important factor in On Page SEO. Headings on a page provide extra information or sense about what is written under this Tag. So make sure you focus your headings around the content of your page with specific related keyword in mind about the page. These tags are enclosed in <h1> and <h2> heading tags.

A page only has one <h1> tag but may have 2, 3 or more <h2> Tags. There are total six heading tags <h1>, <h2>, <h3>…. and <h6>. Do not use more than one <h1> Tag on a single page or post this may have a bad impact on your page’s optimization.

If you don’t know how to use different Heading Tags in a page to fully optimize your content, just break your content into headings and sub-heading and use closely related keyword variations in those headings but please make sure you don’t stuff your heading with only keywords for SEO. Because if you do this kind of SEO your page headings won’t look natural to human eye and will probably have a negative impression for your visitors and to Search Engines.

<h1> Heading Tag is the most important factor for SEO as compared to other heading tags but it doesn’t mean that we will not use other Heading Tags. It is very beneficial to use all the possible areas to fully optimize our page’s content for specific long tail keywords and its closely related keyword variations in the Heading Tags.

Website Domain Name for On-Page SEO

Website/Blog Domain Name (URL)

The first thing in On Page SEO is Website Domain name, Domain of a website is really an important factor in Search Engine Optimization. You may have seen sites that are promoting a specific product and have that product name in their Domain name. It is a fast way of Search Engine Optimization. There are other sites that have their primary keyword in their Domains. For example www.longtailkeyword.com these kinds of sites have a guaranteed way of higher rankings on Google without considering the quality of content they provide. Sites that have an exact keyword in their Domains are called Exact Match Domain. There is higher probability of higher rankings on Search Engines of Exact Match Domains than other websites that provide similar content.

Why these Exact Match Domains (EMD) rank so well in Search Engine Results is because these kinds of sites have backlinks from other sites that have domain name in there anchor text by default.

Anchor Text is a text on which we place a link on, for example CLICK HERE. Search Engines analyze the links and Anchor Texts to get an idea of page that is linked to and its authority. So if you have an Exact Match Domain for your best primary keyword you may have an advantage over your competitors because whenever you got a backlink, the anchor text include the domain name by default. For example you are promoting a product called “Weight Loss Diet Plan” and your domain name is www.weightlossdietplan.com so whenever someone link to your page using your product name as anchor text your anchor text automatically include your domain name and will result in high ranking as Google and other Search Engines give importance to these links and provide you some authority for that keyword (Domain Name).

But there is a little twist now-a-days, because most of the webmasters used this technique in the past and they misused this technique, so most of the Search Engines now show red flags to these kinds of Domain Names. These Kinds of Exact Match Domains got hit by Google because they are not focusing on quality content but focus only on Search Engine Optimization. So do not plan to do this kind of stuff because it won’t work anymore if you are not focusing on Quality Content in your project. Not all EMD sites got hit by Google because they are focusing on their visitors and providing them Value/Benefit. Provide value to your visitors and then optimize your content. Because everyone like natural and relevant content, natural and relevant links and anchor texts so does the Google and other Search Engines.

Now if you really want to use Exact Match Domain (EMD) website, you have to focus on these 2 things:
  1. Your website is filled with good quality content which is well optimized, and
  2. You got natural backlinks from good sources with natural Anchor Text
And if you want to introduce your own brand name you can have that name as your Domain Name. It will help you, your brand and will build its own authority over time.

If you want to attract world-wide traffic you should have a .com .net or .org Domain Names. If you are targeting a particular Country and want to rank well on your local search engine like Google.co.uk then .co.uk or .org.uk Domain Names are best. But local Domains only show in local search results not in other countries. But it is sometime necessary to have a local Domain Name because of a local business like restaurants, local trading company or any professional services.

On-Page Optimization Techniques

After you have done your keyword research, now it’s time to optimize our website/blog/content or page for selected keywords and key terms. The next thing we have to follow in three main pillars hierarchy is On Page SEO. As I told you earlier On Page Search Engine Optimization means making small but important modifications in your website or blog so that you can make your blog Search Engine friendly. There are some key elements or key areas in On Page SEO which are follows:

1- Blog/website Domain Name or URL
2- Title Tags for posts and pages
3- Heading Tag
4- Permalinks
5- Meta Tags
  • Description Meta Tags
  • Keywords Meta Tags
6- Author Profile
7- Image Optimization
  • Image File Name
  • Image Title Tags
  • Image Alt Tags
  • Image File Size
8- Creative and Unique Content
9- Keyword Density
10- Related Keywords
11- Inter Linking
12- Video and Audio
13- Anchor Text

On Page SEO, if done correctly, can easily give your website’s ranking the desired boost that you are looking for and you can out smart your competition. But remember one thing that it’s a process and you have to follow all the steps to make it work for you. SEO may be boring time, consuming or whatever but still it has its significance in Search Engine’s rankings. So pay good attention to all the areas related to your project and have patience it is not a one night thing where you will see results in just one night. If you do all the steps correctly you will be able to see some results in just 3 to 5 weeks depending on the keywords you selected and how properly you did the SEO steps. It is a blue print that I’m following since I started my projects. I updated and will update in future this blue print on timely basis so that it won’t rotten out.

There are some key areas from the beginning that really wants your attention. Let’s recall them and then move on to our 1st ON Page SEO area which is Website/Blog Domain Name or URL. Some of the key points are:

1- Keyword Research
2- Selection of Long Tail Keywords
3- Competition Analysis

Google Adwords Keyword Planner Tool

Google Adwords Keyword Planner Tool Cover Photo
Login Here and open the Google Adwords Keyword Planner Tool. This Tool is located in "Tools and Analysis" tab in the menu with the name of "Keyword Planner". Once you are on the Google Adwords Keyword Planner Tool page, just open the first option "Search for new keyword and group ideas" and write down your keyword or key term (Long Tail Keyword) and hit the Get Ideas button. On the next page there are lots of keyword ideas that would include your key term with Monthly Searches, Yearly Searches, Competition, CPC, etc.
Google Adwords Keyword Planner Tool PhotoGoogle Adwords Keyword Planner Tool Photo
Now You will see a screen like this where you can find the best keyword that is related to your content.
Google Adwords Keyword Planner Tool Photo
In Left Pane there is an option called Keyword filters use this option to select "LOW" competition so that Google Adwords tool only show keywords and key terms with low competition.
Now back to the search results or our keyword.
Avg monthly Searches are those searches that have been made in the last month for that particular keyword or key term with exact match. Competition means how other webmasters are using that keyword. Low Competition means there are not so many webmasters like us who are using the same keyword for optimizing there content and that’s where we would target our focus. We would Select Keywords with Low Competition and with High Monthly Searches.

Now we know how to conduct our keyword research we would follow this process and find as many possible long tail keywords or key terms that are related to our content, website or blog. In start it may be difficult to find some great keywords but with some practice this can be done correctly and properly. In the later posts I would show you some great stuff that will make this keyword research very easy and fun for you guys just stay tuned. One question that may tease you is that how many keywords we need to collect to start a new project. From my point of view we need keywords as many as we can find (may be 80-100 to give us a start) but do not forget the description of keywords that we need. Long tail Keywords with Low competition and High Monthly Searches.

After that keyword research now we have a pretty much big data base, now we can move to our next phase which is Analyze Competition for selected Keywords and Key Terms.
So we would start our Analysis of selected keywords for Competition. This may be a lengthy process but we have to find all information that we can get easily. We would type each keyword in Google and study the pages that Google will show us for that particular Keyword. We want to analyze our competitor’s pages, website or blog so that we can have necessary information about our competitor that how his page looks like in which areas he is strong and where he is weak.

How can we outsmart our  competitors and how can we optimize our pages, post, blog or website that will give the better impression to our readers than our competitor’s website or blog? All these and other questions are important and necessary for our knowledge about the competition we would face in future for that particular keyword so we have to make count each and every second we spent on competition analysis for our selected keywords. Because I know and when you do all these things you would also feel that this process is too lengthy and time consuming, but most important thing is that this process is the base for your project, it may be the key stone in your hands that will give you the ultimate freedom over search engine because may be your competitors haven’t figured this out yet.

So if you understand how this process works, you would have a power to rank on Google for your desired keywords and can crush your competition, it is that simple and clear. Do not worry in the start if you don’t get the results because there is always a logical explanation to any result we face. If you think something is wrong or not working just recall all the points you have learned and compare your project with those points there may be some areas that you skipped or may be applied with some other aspect so just rethink your strategy and work on all the possible areas so that you would get the best possible results.

How to do Keyword Research?

Keyword Research

Now as we have made our base and we know the answers to these general questions like what is Search Engine Optimization. How Search Engines Rank a website or blog. What is Over Optimization and how to avoid Over Optimization? We can build a map for us that we would follow in future to check our progress that what are we doing in SEO and what are the remaining areas to follow.
So let’s do this together!

There are 3 main pillars for any SEO Project:
  1. Keyword Research
  2. On Page SEO
  3. Off Page SEO
First thing you all should know that SEO is a process and all the areas where we would make modifications are inter-related and connected to each other like all the pieces of Jigsaw. We would discuss all above 3 areas one by one in detail so that you can model this process and able to apply this knowledge in your website or blog. Today we are going to discuss our First and foremost area which is Keyword Research. For this I would use Keyword tool called Google Adwords Keyword Planner, because a complete newbie like me can easily use this and it is pretty obvious that Google has dominated all the other search engines with its quality results so why not take fullest advantage of its Keyword Planner.

Before we start I would like to explain sub-points that we are going to discuss in Keyword Research.
  1. What is Keyword Research?
  2. How to Conduct Keyword Research?
  3. Analyze competition for selected Keywords and Key Terms.
  4. Build a Data Base of relevant Keywords for your Website or Blog.
  5. Optimize your website or blog for those selected Keywords.
Before I start talking on keyword research I want to mention one thing that KEYWORD RESEARCH is very important to start any project (website or blog) if you won’t do your keyword research your On Page SEO and Off Page SEO won’t matter either or you would just waste your time on On-Page and Off-Page SEO if you conduct Keyword Research poorly. So please whenever you start any project please conduct keyword research properly because it would save you time and money afterwards.

What is Keyword Research?

So what Keyword Research actually is! In simple words, Keyword research means finding related keywords and key terms for your website or Blog (for your main content of the blog or website). Now what kind of keywords we would find is the question. We would direct our focus on those key words and key terms for which there are most monthly searches. It means most of the visitors use those keywords and key terms to find web pages related to your content. The more monthly searches the better it is. And there would be some competition for those keywords and key terms. We do not want to select keywords with high Competition because it would be difficult to rank for those keywords or key terms. We would target Keywords that have More Monthly Searches and have low competition, for this we would select long tail Keywords (3, 4 or 5 words Keywords) because these keywords have low competition and it would be easier and also wiser to rank for these long tail keywords. Why I am focusing on long tail keywords because generally one and two words keywords has very strong and high competition and it would take us months or may be year to rank for these keywords. You may have different experience but I am writing all these facts because I have faced all these things and I know how hard it is to rank on Google if you are going to follow those one or two words keywords.

How to do Keyword Research?

Now we all know that what Keyword Research is, so we would discuss our second point which is how to conduct Keyword Research?
I am using Google Adwords for this, you may use any other tool but keep one thing in mind that it is a process just follow the steps and you are good to go whether you use Google Adwords or any other tool.
Just go to Google Adwords Keyword Planner tool’s Page, you need Google account to use this page you have to login and then you will be able to use this tool but don’t worry its free and it wouldn’t cost you a dime to use Google Adwords Keyword Planner Tool.
In the next post I'll show you how to conduct Keyword Research with Google Adwords Keyword Planner Tool with examples and pics so that you can model the process.

What is Over Optimization?

Over Optimization

Before we start our discussion on Optimizing our website or blog we should know what is over optimization? Because it is an easy trap to fall into, if someone is new to SEO, he may not consider this over optimization terminology and can easily be penalized by major search engines.

Most of the sites that are following this over optimization strategy got hit by Google in 2011-2012, so we should consider this fact before we jump into the SEO. The best and may be the only way you can tackle this over optimization trap is by remaining natural in your writing. It means you should avoid the following things:
  1. Keyword Stuffing
  2. Including exact match keyword phrases with no actual content
  3. Internal Linking with exact match keywords
  4. Page Titles and Heading with exact match keywords which are difficult to understand and do not look natural
Let me explain all of these 4 points so that there would be no misconception about these points.
1- Keyword Stuffing:
Keyword Stuffing means including exact match keywords in your sentences so they look unnatural to human eye and does not make any sense at all. It may also include the frequency of exact match keywords in a single sentence or paragraph. Keyword stuffing is not a good technique for a better SEO strategy and should be avoided.
2- Including exact match keyword phrases with no actual content
It means including your selected keywords in each and every tag like description tags or keyword tags and in every available space like sentences and paragraphs without creating useful content around these keywords. When you do these things, your content would become unnatural and unreadable to human eye (visitors).
3- Internal Linking with Exact Match Keywords
We should avoid linking our website's pages with one another by exact match keyword anchor text. When we do internal linking in this way it would alarm search engines that we are forcing search engines to rank our pages for these exact match keywords, and we really don’t want search engine’s unnecessary attention.
4- Page Titles and Headings
Do not create your page titles and headings with exact match keywords that have no link with the content of the page and provide no sense at all to the visitors. Do not stuff these areas with just key words provide useful titles and heading that are readable to humans and are related to our content on that page.

The main motive here is to be natural and not a robot. When we are creating natural and quality content and present that content in a natural way it would attract more and more organic traffic and people will share these thoughts of ours with their friends. So in result, we would get more exposure and even more traffic. And if you want to monetize your content in future it would help you a lot because Traffic = Money.

There may be a question in your mind that how I can over smart our competition without falling in over optimization trap?
Answer is really simple that you don’t need a perfect website, page or content, the only thing you need is a better page/website/content or blog than your competitors. Analyze your competition carefully watch out for flaws in their content or website and produce a quality website or content that is better than your competitors and which provides more value to your visitors than your competitor’s website, and be natural all the time.
Now we know what we should do and avoid in Search engine Optimization, we can focus on the main areas that need to be optimized in response to get more organic traffic (search engine exposure) in quickest and shortest period of time.

Black Hat SEO Strategies Photo

Black Hat SEO:

As I told you in the last post that people can use illegal means to get higher rankings for specific keywords and key terms to manipulate the search results and have an unfair advantage over their competitors. This is called Black Hat SEO. It is not a good approach for any webmaster to go with as it is short term strategy and there always be a doubt in webmaster’s mind that one day Google will find out this fact and his or her website will be slapped or penalized. So we are not focusing on Black Hat SEO because we don’t need short term results we are here for achieve something bigger. We do not focus just on SEO for the sake of Financial Benefits by monetizing our content instead we really want to give some value to our readers, our visitors or giving something useful to our organic traffic that is our main goal of doing SEO or learning SEO stuff.

White Hat SEO:

White Hat SEO is just a polar opposite of Black Hat SEO. These methods are permitted and appreciated by all search engines and have a long term value to everyone not to just webmasters but to the users and visitors also. Now after this point on we would just discuss White Hat SEO and focus on Google because it is the most popular Search engine in the market.

Now there may be a question in your mind that why search engines do not allow Black Hat SEO strategies? The Answer is simple and clear that they want to give value to their customers and want to provide best results for specific queries and key terms. That’s why Google is on top because Google provides best possible results and thrives for perfection, in result the value of their shares boost to the sky, giving Google millions of dollars in its bank account. So now you can see the big picture why each and every search engine is thriving to provide best results. So they do not allow any illegal means or Black Hat SEO strategy which creates barriers in their way of success. If you caught by these major search engines your site would be penalized or excluded from the search results. We do not want this thing to happen so we would just focus on healthy strategies and permitted methods.

As now we all understand what are SEO strategies (Black Hat and White Hat) so we can start our website or blog optimization. In the next post I will show you all the areas of website or blog that would need optimization to rank well in search engines and after that we would discuss each and every aspect of that area in detail to get maximum understanding of Search Engine Optimization Process. Search Engine Algorithms and Updates

What are Search Engine Algorithms and Updates?

A quick reminder what we gained in the last post, we discuss that what is Search Engine Optimization? What kind of benefits we would get after doing the correct SEO or applying the small modifications and changes that are permitted by most of the Search Engines?

Answer to the 1st question is that SEO means making small adjustments in our websites to make it Search Engine Friendly. And the 2nd Answer is that we do SEO to rank well on Search Engines and to get huge amount of Organic Traffic to our site.

How Search Engine Works?

So now the main question is that how search engines works and what kind of tools they have to rank all the sites and sorting and positioning sites in their search results for visitor’s or user’s queries.  There are so many like Tons of factors that will determine the position and rank of your site in the specific search engine’s search results for specific key terms, keywords and queries. Each and every Search Engine use different kinds of updates and algorithms to determine the best ranking of sites in its search results. For example Google is using panda and penguin updates for this purpose. Most of the webmasters, however they are new to this industry, they know these updates and also know what they are for. I do not want to confuse you with these updates and algorithms because Google never told anybody about these algorithms that how they work. These Algorithms and updates are secret properties of Google and Other Search Engines.

And there is a logical explanation to this fact, that if I know how these updates and algorithms work I can manipulate the search results and have an unfair advantage over all the webmasters in the world. So no one claim that he knows that how stuff works inside the Google. The only thing we know is that these updates are there to have a check and balance on the search results so that no one can manipulate or force Google’s or other search engine’ results in his favor.

These updates and Algorithms are adjusted, modified and updated regularly as an ongoing process to deliver the best quality search results to its users on daily basis and to remove low quality sites and content from the search results.

What is Search Engine Optimization?

My Background, How I started SEO Tips and Tweaks:

I started this blog on search engine optimization tips so that I can help new bloggers and webmasters who are not familiar or have misconceptions about SEO terminologies or they misunderstood the real aspects of SEO like I misunderstood in the beginning. When I realized this fact, I thought that maybe there are other people with same sort of problems. So I started to gain knowledge on Search Engine Optimization. I read articles, blog posts and books to have a strong grip on this subject. After that I taught my friends who are blogging at that time and it really turned as I expected, me and my friends got great results on the basis of SEO knowledge I gained so far. So I decided to start a blog on SEO to help other bloggers and webmasters who have difficult time in getting organic traffic from big Search Engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo.

Search Engine Optimization:

So back to our main question, what is Search Engine Optimization? And Why SEO is so necessary in present era of Internet, websites and blogs?

We all do SEO to rank well in Search Engines and to have a huge amount of organic traffic to our websites/blogs. In Simple Words “SEO is another name of making small changes and modifications in your blog or websites to make your site search engine friendly.”

We modify or optimize individual parts of our website so that we can rank well on Google, Bing or Yahoo or any other Search Engine, these changes or modifications may seem little or trivial but when combined they have a remarkable impact on your site’s ranking, your site’s user experience and organic search results. May be you are familiar with most of the terminologies that we would discuss in later posts but you may not be getting the desired results. Because every SEO Specialist told us that it would take almost 3-4 months or even more time period to stable any new blog or website. But if we focus on each and every aspect of Search Engine Optimization we can decrease this time period way below the average.

But before we start optimizing our website we should know one or two things about Search Engines because we are dealing with experts who are sitting there as watch dogs only for people who are using or planning to use illegal or unnecessary means of SEO and Forcing there sites to be ranked on major search engines to get organic results.
In the next post we would discuss about Search Engine, how they work and what are search engine algorithms and updates.
