Keyword Meta Tag
In the last post we have discussed about the Description Meta Tags that what are Description Meta Tags, how to properly use these tags for search engine optimization. Now in this post we would discuss another Meta tag which is Keyword Meta Tag. In the past this tag has enormous SEO value but webmasters and bloggers used this area in such a way that is not permitted or allowed by major search engines, it was like abusing Keyword Meta Tag.
So now this area has a very little SEO value, but we would discuss it as it is an element of On-Page SEO. This tag contains keywords related to the content on the page for which you are using this tag. For example if I’m writing a post on weight loss my keyword may be “How to lose Belly Fat Quickly”. We write our main focused keyword and other related keywords in this tag. Related Keywords to the above example may be “quick guide to weight loss”, “Foods that kill Belly Fat” or whatever. I’m just making all this so that you can understand the process, my examples may be not accurate but you get the point that’s all that matter.
But before you think of using Keyword Meta Tags, you should understand these following points:
- Just include one primary keyword in this tag that is the core focus of your page or post
- Never ever use all the related keywords and keyword variation in this tag for the specific page
- Never stuff the same keywords for every page and post
Please never abuse this area with just keywords stuffing, if you are trying to do this, it is better not to use this area at all.
In the next post I’ll discuss about our next On-Page SEO element Author Profile and Author Rank. This topic is somewhat lengthy so I don’t want to start it here. It may cause me to split this post into two halves and I really don’t want to do that so see you in the next post for Author Information, Profile and Rank.
