Keyword Research
Now as we have made our base and we know the answers to these general questions like what is Search Engine Optimization. How Search Engines Rank a website or blog. What is Over Optimization and how to avoid Over Optimization? We can build a map for us that we would follow in future to check our progress that what are we doing in SEO and what are the remaining areas to follow. So let’s do this together!
There are 3 main pillars for any SEO Project:
- Keyword Research
- On Page SEO
- Off Page SEO
Before we start I would like to explain sub-points that we are going to discuss in Keyword Research.
- What is Keyword Research?
- How to Conduct Keyword Research?
- Analyze competition for selected Keywords and Key Terms.
- Build a Data Base of relevant Keywords for your Website or Blog.
- Optimize your website or blog for those selected Keywords.
What is Keyword Research?
So what Keyword Research actually is! In simple words, Keyword research means finding related keywords and key terms for your website or Blog (for your main content of the blog or website). Now what kind of keywords we would find is the question. We would direct our focus on those key words and key terms for which there are most monthly searches. It means most of the visitors use those keywords and key terms to find web pages related to your content. The more monthly searches the better it is. And there would be some competition for those keywords and key terms. We do not want to select keywords with high Competition because it would be difficult to rank for those keywords or key terms. We would target Keywords that have More Monthly Searches and have low competition, for this we would select long tail Keywords (3, 4 or 5 words Keywords) because these keywords have low competition and it would be easier and also wiser to rank for these long tail keywords. Why I am focusing on long tail keywords because generally one and two words keywords has very strong and high competition and it would take us months or may be year to rank for these keywords. You may have different experience but I am writing all these facts because I have faced all these things and I know how hard it is to rank on Google if you are going to follow those one or two words keywords. How to do Keyword Research?
Now we all know that what Keyword Research is, so we would discuss our second point which is how to conduct Keyword Research?I am using Google Adwords for this, you may use any other tool but keep one thing in mind that it is a process just follow the steps and you are good to go whether you use Google Adwords or any other tool.
